Connects to the CNC port.
Connection
How we hook it up
The CNC port (optional on some versions) provides trigger and arc voltage. Without a CNC port, connection through the torch control.
- 01
Clamp the ArcDroid to the table and plug in its power supply.
- 02
Connect the cutter's CNC output to the ArcDroid controller.
- 03
Fit your torch in the universal holder and tighten both clamps.
- 04
Run the guided calibration on screen: height probing, arc-start test, arc-voltage setting.
- 05
Trace or import your first part. Cut.
In practice
Cutting with a Thermal Dynamics on the ArcDroid
What the ArcDroid controls
On Thermal Dynamics units fitted with a CNC output, the ArcDroid fires the arc and reads the divided arc voltage: the torch height adjusts itself during the cut. On versions without a CNC output, it wires to the torch trigger and cuts at a fixed height after probing the sheet.
Starting settings
Set the amperage on the Thermal Dynamics for the thickness, as you would for hand cutting. Speed, pierce height and cut height are set on the ArcDroid's screen, with no computer. Our reference values by thickness and amperage are in the guide.

Three checks are enough: the exact model reference of your Thermal Dynamics, the start type (pilot arc or contact, never HF) and whether it has a CNC output or an accessible torch trigger. In doubt? Send us a photo of the rating plate.

Thermal Dynamics and ArcDroid
Does the Cutmaster 60i have a CNC port as standard?
Depends on the version; check the back of the machine. We supply the pinout.
Does automatic torch height control work with a Thermal Dynamics?
Yes on versions fitted with a CNC output (divided arc voltage). On the others, the ArcDroid cuts at a fixed height after probing the sheet — perfect on a flat sheet.
Can I keep my Thermal Dynamics hand torch?
Yes. The hand torch mounts in the ArcDroid's universal holder with no modification: two clamps to tighten, and you have it back in your hand just as quickly for hand cutting.
