Simple Trace™
Three moves. No file.
- 01
Set it down
The machine clamps to the table or to the sheet itself with its base plate. The plasma cutter plugs into the controller. Five minutes, stopwatch in hand.
- 02
Trace
With the stylus, follow a template, an existing part, a marker sketch. Point to point for straight lines and holes, freehand for curves.
- 03
Cut
The torch retraces the outline to the millimetre, at 5,000 mm/min, with automatic height sensing. The trace is saved: the same part, as many times as you need.
Simple Trace™ demonstration: a gasket traced with the stylus, then cut — 30 seconds.
01 · Trace
You trace, it memorises.
The stylus follows the bracket lying on the table. No drawing on a computer, no file to prepare: the outline is recorded live on the controller.

The controller
One screen, every setting.
The Simple Trace™ touch controller is linked to the machine by a shielded cable: immune to the electrical noise of plasma, no mandatory updates, usable with gloves on. It drives tracing, cutting, torch height control, shape libraries and USB import.

- Point-to-point and freehand tracing
- Parametric shapes and part repetition
- Automatic torch height control (THC)
- DXF and G-code import from USB
- Trace export as G-code
- Nine languages, including English
From your files
Your DXF, your G-code, your software.
ArcDroid reads DXF files and standard (Marlin) G-code. Official post-processors exist for Fusion 360, SheetCAM, QCAD/CAM and Vectric; Estlcam supports the machine natively. Draw on the computer, transfer by USB stick, cut.
Materials
Whatever your torch cuts, ArcDroid cuts.
Thickness depends on your plasma cutter, not on the robot: a 45 A unit cuts cleanly up to 12 mm of steel, a 105 A unit goes beyond 25 mm. Steel, stainless, aluminium, brass, copper.
| 30–45 A cutter | steel up to 10–12 mm |
|---|---|
| 60–65 A cutter | steel up to 16–20 mm |
| 85–105 A cutter | steel up to 25–32 mm |
Indicative clean-cut values published by cutter manufacturers. Severance capacity is higher.
Under the skin

Reviews
4.6 / 5 from 102 verified reviews.
There is no other machine on the market that can do what this does.
The trace function alone is worth the price of the pack.
Very easy to pick up, even without ever having cut before. The tracing is really clever.
Reviews published on arcdroidcnc.com.
Which plasma cutter do I need?
A pilot-arc or touch-start model, ideally with a CNC output (height control uses arc voltage divided by 20 or 15). High-frequency (HF) start models are not compatible. Check your brand on the Compatibility page or call us.
How accurate is it?
Stylus tracing reproduces your template to the millimetre; DXF files are cut with the accuracy of a CNC table. Cut quality then depends on your torch and consumables, as on any machine.
Do I need a dedicated table?
No. ArcDroid sits on a workbench, a sheet, a trestle. The FlexTable™ is a handy option: slats, castors, cutter storage, controller arm.
What about sheets larger than 660 × 380 mm?
The machine repositions in a few seconds; the X2 module automates the move to 1,200 mm wide over three indexed positions, with automatic file stitching.
